It Pays To Be Google Friendly!
The preferred domain feature of webmaster tools – The preferred domain feature will let Google know which version of an URL to choose when you have other sites linking to both www and non-www versions.
It’s not wise to put in elaborate copyright text at the bottom of every page. Use short text and link it to another page having more details. Google doesn’t encourage boilerplate repetition.
Do not publish pages that have nothing to offer. Users don’t like empty pages and so do bots. It’s better to opt out such “stub” pages from search engine access.
Make sure you know how your CMS works. Often the same content gets displayed in different formats, bringing down SEO credibility.
Don’t lose sleep over content theft. If someone else is stealing content from you, you are creating a negative impact in the eyes of Google; the other site is. It is pretty much annoying to see others stealing content from you, but you can always file for a DMCA request when you spot one.
